Blackpool Transport is the proud operator of Blackpool’s £100 million tramway. The four year project, which concluded in April 2012, saw the replacement of 11 miles of track, creation of a new depot and introduction of a fleet of 16 state-of-the-art trams.
It has never been easier to travel across Blackpool and the Fylde coast, with faster journey times, easy access and integrated Blackpool1 tickets that give you unlimited use of the trams and Blackpool Transport bus network.(excluding Heritage Trams).
Our frequent and reliable tram service provides an energy efficient mode of transport connecting residents and visitors to all major leisure, retail and businesses along the 11 mile stretch of coastline between Starr Gate and Fleetwood.

We are delighted to announce the exciting and long anticipated Heritage Tram Tours operating dates for the 2015 season!
Tours will operate every Saturday and Sunday until 8th November, 2015. In addition to these weekends, tours will run midweek Monday 4th May, Tuesday 26th to Friday 29th May, Monday 27th July to Thursday 3rd September and Monday 26th to Friday 30th October. (No heritage tours will operate on 4th & 5th September due to Promenade closure at Tower for Illuminations switch on concert).
The core tour service will operate between North Pier and Pleasure Beach from 1000hrs to 1700hrs up to every twenty minutes and use ‘open boat’ cars in fine weather or enclosed heritage trams at other times. Enhanced services will operate at bank holidays and other special events including runs further afield on the tramway to include Little Bispham and Fleetwood.
Ride & Dine Wednesdays are being introduced as a new concept where you can enjoy an evening heritage tram tour departing North Pier at 1800hrs via Little Bispham, Pleasure Beach and back to North Pier. Tickets must be pre-booked at £25 and include a complementary glass of fizz when you board the tram, a two course set meal at one of our wonderful Town Centre partner restaurants then a ride home on one of Blackpool Transport’s service buses or flexity trams. Ride & Dine operates every third Wednesday of the month.

2015 sees the Blackpool & Fleetwood tramway achieve 130 years of operation and the weekend of 26th & 27th September will be the big celebration to mark this remarkable milestone in history. Definitely a weekend date for your diary with some unique and very special plans being hatched!
